Description:
This is the modern piano of the ancient instrument generation! This is an album that makes a seemingly orthodox selection of masterpieces by the Neapolitan school, descended from the lineage of Ciccolini and Tipo, sound supremely interesting. Olivier Cavet was born in Switzerland but is of Neapolitan-Italian descent. He was taught by the great Neapolitan masters Aldo Ciccolini and Maria Tipo, who were also of Neapolitan descent, and like them were keen to introduce 18th century works, he plays exquisitely in the pre-classical repertoire. Rinaldo Alessandrini's great confidence in his talent for playing fortepiano and harpsichord, and his ability to reflect this "flair" in his contemporary piano playing, is also evidenced by the fact that he is a great admirer of Rinaldo Alessandrini's. The staccato steps are also very well thought out. The staccato steps are well thought out, and the unique performance, reminiscent of the harpsichord but with the flavor of a modern piano, is a must-see. Naxos Japan
