Limited edition silver colour vinyl.
Highly recommended.
After helping form legendary punk outfit The Saints in his late teens and then breaking away to create avant-garde heroes The Laughing Clowns in his mid-twenties, Ed Kuepper took the next step of his musical career shortly before his thirtieth birthday by releasing this debut solo album, Electrical Storm. Leaving behind the trumpet/saxophone sound that characterised the Laughing Clowns, Kuepper here opts for a more traditional sound featuring just guitar, bass and drums. In his typical fashion, the guitars seem to use the beat as a rough guide, lurching in front and behind the drums rather than keeping exact time. This is a trait that can also be said about Ed's warbling, mumbled vocals, which sound either unable or unwilling to ascend into fully-fledged singing. Disorder is a big piece of Kuepper's puzzle.
