Description:
This album explores the fascinating relationship between Baroque and modern and contemporary music through a variety of works for unaccompanied violin. Churochnikova used modern and period instruments tuned to different pitches to create a unique world of sound. Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Churochnikova began playing the violin at age 7, made her professional debut at age 14 performing Bruch's concerto with the Kharkiv Philharmonic, and studied at the Tchaikovsky, Oberlin, and Juilliard Conservatories in Moscow. Hall in 2013 to rave reviews, and in 2016 TOCCATA CLASSICS released "Aquimenco: Violin Works" (TOCC-352). Since then, she has been performing throughout the U.S. She is a violinist of note.
