Standard kit:
This is the AirDog® II-5G DF-165-5G fuel system for the 1989-1993 Dodge Ram 12V VE-44 5.9L Cummins. This diesel lift pump mounts to the inside of the frame rail using the supplied sandwich plate mounting system. A Fuel Module Upgrade Kit is installed in the factory fuel basket to pull fuel through a factory-style 1/2" bulkhead fitting. The pressure side connects directly into the side of the injection pump, bypassing the factory fuel filter housing and factory mechanical fuel pump. The AirDog® Air/Vapor return is sent back to the tank through the factory 3/8” suction line once the module is modified. This is a 165GPH (Gallon Per Hour) lift pump system for moderately modified trucks. Check out our installation manual for a list of parts that are included with this kit.
OUR OFFER: Any VE Airdog kit purchased here can come with a OSC Feed fitting at half price if selected! If purchased separately at a later date the discount will not take effect. (If you are wondering why, you would need our feed fitting, you may be new to the VE platform and that's fine! Go take a look at it on here and the product description will tell you everything you need to know!)
Standard kit + Sump
The PureFlow AirDog® universal fuel sump helps aid aftermarket fuel systems by utilizing gravity to pull fuel from the tank. Our redesigned sump has both a suction and return port! We integrated a dual o-ring seal to prevent leaks! The installation of our fuel sump eliminates the common 1/4 tank suction issue associated with a draw straw-style fuel pickup. This sump is manufactured in America using corrosion resistant components.
The PureFlow AirDog® Fuel Sump Advantage:
- Can be Installed Without Dropping the Fuel Tank
- Eliminate 1/4 Tank Problems
- Feed and Return Port
- Uses Corrosion Resistant Components
- Installation Takes Less Than an Hour
- Dual O-Ring Seal
Our Take:
The Airdog 5G 165 is the answer for your high horsepower VE trucks. Although this provides great reliability and filtering from stock horsepower to 800 horsepower, it will be the upgrade to your current HVLP lift pump. For the most ease of install, you will want to utilize a sump on the bottom of the tank.
Anyone who has issues with the reliability of a electric pump versus a mechanical pump has probably had their factory first gen wiring fail them. There is NO warranty for the pump not working due to you not fixing your $h!tty factory first gen wiring.
