Strawberry and sour is a reliable combination. The citric acid coating gives the sweetness somewhere to go. I use strawberry flavoring from Natures Flavors, botanical-sourced, with a flavor that's ripe and clean without any artificial candy aftertaste.

The base is organic unsalted butter, glucose syrup, and pure granulated cane sugar. Beet and red radish give them a warm, natural red color. Each 80g resealable bag has 10 to 11 individually wrapped chews.

If you want the classic version without the sour coating, the Strawberry Chews are the same recipe minus the citric acid.
